The Acting Company are a non-profit community theatre committed to sharing the magic of live theatre with the Yuba-Sutter region. All of their productions are created through the efforts of 100% volunteer work and community support. The Acting Company shares the magic of live theater by supporting the Yuba-Sutter community with six full scale productions each year, entertainment at local events, children’s theater, acting workshops, the rental of costumes and props, and donating performances to local non-profits.

Current Production: Forclosures - Daisy, a thirty-some woman, flies to San Francisco, having received a phone call from her younger sister whom she has not seen in fifteen years.  Unable to find her, she seeks the counsel of a therapist to whom she expresses her feeling of guilt for her part in their estrangement.  Her futile search for her sister leads her to the possible conclusion that she is dead, the victim of murder or suicide.  In this mystery, is anyone who he seems to be, and will the question as to what has happened to Daisy’s sister ever be answered? Due to language and subject matter, Foreclosures is not recommend for anyone under the age of 13 . This production runs August 14 to Sept 6, 2009 Fri 8pm, Sat 8pm, Sun 2pm. Tickets are $15, and are available online or at our box office.

Magic Theatre - These productions are just for children and the young at heart! These shows are for children of all ages. Come and enjoy our wonderful performers as they share the magic of theatre especially for your little ones.

Young People’s Theatre Workshops - The Acting Company is proud to offer a new series of monthly theatre workshops for young people ages 6-18. A new and different workshop is offerred every month, beginning on the first Saturday and running for four weeks. For more information on a specific class call 530-751-1100!

Volunteers - There is much more to the theater process than a director putting a group of actors on stage. There is a place for every possible skill—and some will discover skills they didn’t know they possessed. Set construction, painting, costumes, props, lights and sound are all areas where assistance is appreciated. Training, when necessary, will be offered in all these areas for those interested.

Military Discount - The Acting Company is proud to announce the availability of discounted ticket prices during the first weekend of all our shows for members of the military and their families.  Just present your military ID at the box office to buy your tickets for $10 each.  Military members can also reserve discount tickets by calling (530) 751-1100. Magic Theater tickets are only $5.00 with no further discount and must be purchased at the door only.
