Amicus Books

Amicus Books is a book store and so much more.  The books they sell and donations from the community help fund the Literary Arts Center that gives back to local authors and the community.

Amicus Books, located at 413 D St. in downtown Marysville sells mostly used books and out of print books though they do sell some new books. They rely on donations of books to support the outreach programs they offer to promote  positive change in the community through the written word.

The Literary Arts Center hosts numerous events to connect with the local community. Their Literary Lounge offers shelf space, literary materials and events to give new authors a way to get their words published and promote their books. The Art of Transforming a Life into Stories program revolves around preserving family histories, Origami Zone gives kids an environment to explore writing, Intrepid Press is aimed at authors 16-23. Creative connections for everyone.

"With the ability to read we gain knowledge of the world; with the ability to write we gain knowledge of the self. These two acts constitute a relationship, a conversation, and the groundwork of thinking..."
