Local Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are needed daily to help sort donated items, put out new items, reaarange merchandise, and to assist customers. If you have an hour or two daily, weekly, or monthly, the Airmen's Attic would appreciate your assistance! Normal volunteer hours are during business hours.

Military Spouses can volunteer at the information desk just inside the clinic entrance. Friendly hosts and hostesses are needed for three house shifts Mon - Fri from 9:00 - 12:00 and 12:00 - 3:00. Spend an enjoyable morning or afternoon with a friend or other volunteer. Meet interesting people and have a reqarding experience. Sorry - babysitting is not available.

Beale Airmen Against Drinking and Driving (BAADD)
Beale Airmen Against Drinking and Driving (BAADD) is always looking for drivers. BAADD's goal is to save lives. We hope that your support will help the BAADD program do a better job than ever before. This is an opportunity for mature teens and AF personnel to get involved with the disable children in the local area. The volunteers guide/lead the horses while the handicapped children ride.

The Ace Mentoring is looking for Mentors to provide one on one attention and become a positive adult role model in a child's life. Work directly with a child, grades 4th-8th, in helping them develop skills to become successful in life. Mentoring occurs on one of three Wheatland Elementary School Campuses serving students from Wheatland and families living on or around Beale Air Force Base. We ask for a minimum of 1 hour per week and a commitment through the school year. Successful applicants will possess: compassion, understanding, positive outlook and an understanding of how to problem solve.
Training: The ACE Mentoring Program will provide training. We will share with you our expectations, train you in techniques of helping children problem solve, explain the benefits of 40 Assets and how you as a mentor fulfill many of those assets. You will receive a binder full of information, tips and supports. Mentor Centers are located on each campus to provide additional support while you're on campus.
Salary: While there is no cash payment for the work you will do the payment you receive is priceless. You will receive the irreplaceable feeling of gratitude and pride in knowing that you had a positive impact on a child's life! You will receive the exact amount needed to repay the debt that you owe to the person that made a positive impact on your life. You will receive the praise an accolades from the Ace Mentoring Program staff and the Wheatland Elementary School District. You will receive the heartwarming smile from a child's that is grateful that you took time out of your day to let them know they are important!
Qualifications: Good communication skills, a willingness to pass on lesson of experience from your own life, you will receive the exact amount needed to repay the debt that you owe to the person that made a positive impact on your life.

Marysville City Cemetery Cleanup
This cemetery dates back to 1851 and is the resting place of not only many pioneers to Yuba County, but also to approximately 120 veterans dating back to the Mexican War through the Vietnam War. Major work weekends occur twice a year (April 19- 20 and Oct 25-26 from 8am - 4pm) and routine work days are on Wednesdays and Sundays. Bring your rakes, shovels, work gloves and come participate in this community event!
